Atlanta bulk pickup or a dumpster?
The city's Office of Solid Waste Services collects furniture and appliances from residents. When the job fits its limits, it costs less than any rental.
The limits
- Volume: up to 8 cubic yards per collection, roughly a small room of furniture
- Frequency: 12 collections a year; each extra one costs $343.10
- Booking: one business day ahead or more, online or through ATL311 at (404) 546-0311. Since February 16, 2026, bulk items go out on your regular collection day.
- Timing: nothing at the curb before 7 pm the evening before; cancellations by 3 pm the day before
- Refused: building and construction materials, auto parts and tires, and anything coming from an eviction, a vacant property or a contractor
A remodel, a reroof or a contractor cleanout needs a dumpster. A one-time furniture purge usually does not.
